A child prodigy and established painter at the age of 12, Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807) was known for her Neoclassical landscapes, history paintings, and most notably, portraits. Her work can be found in major museums throughout the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Hermitage. Several of her pieces are also housed at the Bünder Kunstmuseum located in Chur, Switzerland, the town where she grew up.
